Sonic Cloisters: Dubfire

While interning at Volvox Labs in 2021, I had the unique opportunity to develop Unreal Engine content for an XR DJ set performed by award-winning artist Dubfire at The Met Cloisters in New York. The performance took place in one of the historic stone chambers. Inside the space, three LED panels were erected and using a computer-tracked camera system paired with Unreal Engine and disguise, the team was able to seamlessly mix reality with unreality.

My main contributions come at the 21:00–24:00 mark. This sequence is comprised of an environment I built from a photogrammetry scan of the space, additional modeling and texturing for props like the stone DJ table, and motion capture animations on the figures. I Performed the motion capture takes and refined the resulting animations in Maya for seamless looping sequences.

TAUK: Moon Dub

Director Dani Barbieri approached Volvox for the production of New York-area jam band TAUK’s Moon Dub music video. The video mixes practical shots and super 8 footage along with XR composites shot in Volvox’s on-site LED volume to create a truly unique video. I developed the background environments in Unreal Engine, Maya, and Substance Painter, as well as scripted game logic for interactive elements.
